John Pasqualetto President, Chariman, Chief Executive Officer
In addition to serving as president, CEO, and chairman of the board of SeaBright Holdings, John Pasqualetto is chairman and CEO of SeaBright Insurance Company. Prior to SeaBright, John was the president and CEO of Eagle Insurance Companies, president of Kemper Employers Group, and senior vice president of the Kemper insurance companies positions he held concurrently from the time he joined Kemper in 1998. Earlier leadership roles include president of American International Group's (AIG) workers' compensation specialty group; co-founder of Great States Insurance Company, a California-based specialty workers' compensation company; and executive positions with Argonaut Insurance Company and the State Compensation Insurance Fund of California.
John holds a B.A. from California State University at Northridge.
Richard Gergasko Chief Operating Officer
In addition to serving as COO of SeaBright Holdings, Rich Gergasko serves as president and COO of SeaBright Insurance Company. In both capacities, he is responsible for all operations other than finance and information technology. Prior to SeaBright, Rich served as executive vice president at Eagle Insurance Companies, originally charged with heading underwriting and research and development. He has also held a number of positions elsewhere in the insurance industry, including underwriting vice president of American International Group's (AIG) workers' compensation specialty group, and various actuarial positions at Crum and Forster, William M. Mercer, Inc., and MBA, Inc.
Rich is both a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He holds a B.A .degree in statistics from Rutgers College.
Neal A. Fuller has served as our Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Secretary since September 2011. Mr. Fuller has over 27 years of experience in the financial services industry, including nearly 20 years of senior management experience. From 2010 to 2011, he served as senior vice president and chief financial officer of the ICW Group. From 2000 to 2009, he served in executive leadership positions for Safeco Corporation, including senior vice president-finance and treasurer. Prior to that, from 1991 to 2000, Mr. Fuller held financial leadership positions with Safeco Asset Management and Safeco Mutual Funds.
Drue Wax Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary
Drue Wax has been advising SeaBright and its predecessor companies since 1998 and now guides our business on corporate governance, regulatory and legislative issues, compliance, contract law, and litigation management. Prior to SeaBright, she served as senior counsel in the corporate legal department of the Kemper Insurance Companies and worked for the law firms of Davidson, Goldstein, Mandell & Menkes and of Sidley & Austin.
Drue holds a J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law and a B.A. from Middlebury College.
Jeff Wanamaker Senior Vice President - Underwriting
Jeff Wanamaker is responsible for setting the underwriting direction for SeaBright Insurance, including pricing strategy and coverage decisions, the same role he held at the Eagle Insurance Companies after joining Eagle in 1999. In the ten years prior to that, he was employed by Alaska National Insurance Company, where he underwrote most commercial lines, ultimately specializing in accounts with State Act Workers' Compensation, Longshore, and Maritime employment exposures.
Jeff earned a B.B.A in both finance and economics from the University of Alaska. He also holds professional designations as a Chartered Property Casualty underwriter and an Associate in Reinsurance (ARe).
Richard Seelinger Senior Vice President -Policyholder Services
Richard Seelinger has technical and administrative responsibility for the claims handling operations at SeaBright Insurance, the same role he held at Eagle Insurance Companies after joining Eagle in 2000. Richard also held several key executive positions with the Kemper Insurance Companies, including director of Corporate Planning and Research and workers compensation claims officer.
Richard holds a B.A. in history from Western Illinois University.
Marc Miller (M.D.) Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Marc Miller is responsible for the development and implementation of managed care strategies and programs to enhance the quality and cost effectiveness of claimant medical care. He also consults with our claims examiners on claimant medical issues and monitors our prescription drug program for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Prior to SeaBright, Marc served as medical director for several public and private organizations, including Orange County Medical Services for the Indigent, MedLink Health Care Networks, and FHP, Inc., and was the medical center administrator for Talbert Medical Management Corporation.
Marc is a fellow of both the American College of Physician Executives and American College of Preventative Medicine and serves on the advisory board of the National Managed Health Care Congress. He holds a B.A. from Stanford University, an M.B.A from Golden Gate University, a masters in Public Health from UCLA, and an M.D. from Rush University.
Philip Romney Vice President Finance, Principal Accounting Officer and Assistant Secretary
Since joining SeaBright in 2006, Philip Romney has been responsible for all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and equity compensation administration, including during our initial public offering, follow-on offering, and implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance processes. Prior to SeaBright, he served as director of Finance, controller, and assistant secretary for Eden Bioscience Corporation, a Washington-based, publicly traded agriculture biotechnology company with two foreign business units.
Philip also spent more than a decade working for Snohomish County's Public Utilities District No. 1, first as senior manager for Risk Management and Treasury Services and later as deputy treasurer, where he led the financing team responsible for planning, structuring, and issuing the long-term debt necessary to finance the district's capital projects.
Philip holds a B.S. and M.Acc. from Brigham Young University. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Washington and Associate in Risk Management (ARM), as well as a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants.
SeaBright Holdings Senior Leadership
Christopher Desautel Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer
Christopher Desautel joined SeaBright in December of 2009 to head the IT group and establish and implement the company's IT strategy. Prior to SeaBright, he served as vice president of information technology for Safeco, where he oversaw the company's business intelligence, surety, sales and marketing, finance, and enterprise applications. Among other accomplishments, he delivered innovative portal technologies for the launch of Safeco.com and drove annual savings of $1 million by implementing a new support and delivery model for the company's ERP and financial systems. He also led the development and execution of the IT shared services integration plan for the merger of Safeco and Liberty Mutual.
Prior to Safeco, Christopher worked at Delphi Corporation, where he held several positions, most recently as a global IT executive in charge of information technology across three global divisions and the South American region. He also led the global requirements management process and the delivery of IT programs for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. Earlier in his career, he worked as a business and IT consultant with both Deloitte Consulting and Andersen Consulting.
Christopher holds a B.S. in engineering, with a concentration in operations management, from Michigan State University.
Kristi Marchbanks has over 20 years of general management experience, with a focus on managing and developing growth businesses. In her three years as an executive in Amazon.com's Corporate Accounts business unit, she was responsible for building the business-to-business division, which included the company's high growth incentives market segment. In the six years prior to Amazon.com, Kristi served as president and CEO of SeaTab Software, a software-as-a-service business intelligence company, where she was responsible for overseeing business acquisitions, developing strategic objectives, and building executive relationships with key customers and partners.
Earlier in her career, she served as vice president of the Consumer Imaging division of Eastman Kodak Company, where she had P&L responsibility for $2 billion in annual revenues. She also worked at IBM in sales, marketing, consulting, research and development, and worldwide manufacturing roles.
Kristi holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.A. in business administration from the University of Washington.
Gene Gerrard Assistant Vice President, Human Resources
Gene Gerrard leads our corporate Human Resources group by developing and managing HR programs, services, and policies for the SeaBright Holdings. He came to SeaBright in 2006 after more than 15 years running human resources groups in several different Northwest companies. He has also served as a vice president at Drake Beam Morin, Inc., a worldwide provider of human resources services for recruitment, training, organization development, and change management, where he helped increase the company's market share and expand its territory.
Gene earned his B.A. from Gonzaga University and has done graduate work in business administration at Eastern Washington University.
Jeffrey Miller Chief Operating Officer, Paladin Managed Care Services, Inc.
Jeff has over 25 years' experience in the insurance managed care, health care, consulting, and financial services industries. In his 16 years at Intracorp, a wholly owned subsidiary of CIGNA Healthplan, he assumed progressively broader and more complex finance and operating roles. In his final role at Intracorp, he managed the Southeast, Northeast, Midwest, and Rocky Mountain regions for a multi-product outsourced financial transaction processing enterprise, which included responsibility for profitability, customer service, sales support, and new product and application design and development.
Following Intracorp, he spent four years with Fair Isaac Corporation as vice president of the company's Healthcare and Insurance Service unit, which under his watch became one of the top four businesses in its market space. He also served as vice president of Operations at Cerius Consulting, where he headed up the firm's Healthcare and Business Transformation practices. In 2007, he left Cerius to form Amplify Consulting, which the Orange County Business Journal cited as one of the county's top 10 consulting firms.
Jeff received a B.A. from California State University at Fullerton and an M.B.A. from the University of St. Francis. He is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
Craig Pankow (ARM) President, PointSure Insurance Services, Inc.
Craig joined PointSure in December 2005 as executive vice president in charge of national sales and operations, and in May 2007 was promoted to president. Prior to PointSure, he served as marketing officer for the western region of Willis of North America, where he oversaw the staff responsible for placement of $2 billion in annual premiums. He has also worked as a partner in a workers compensation wholesale specialty company and an executive at a large regional brokerage house.
Craig holds an M.B.A. and the professional designation, Associate in Risk Management (ARM).
Timothy S. Wood National Sales Director
As National Sales Director, Tim Wood supports all the subsidiaries of our parent company, SeaBright Holdings, Inc., including our insurance business. He came to SeaBright in 2010 following seven years at AIG in a number of roles. Most recently, he served as AIG's vice president of business development for the Private Client Group, where he was responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing alternative distribution methods for high net worth clients and prospective clients here and abroad. Prior to that, he served as vice president of sales for Unitrin Specialty Lines Division, where he managed the Field Sales, Customer Service, and Licensing staffs; and as senior sales manager for Progressive Insurance, where he re-launched the company's personal auto insurance program in California and managed a territory of more 700 brokers. He has also worked as a licensed insurance broker in his own business and as a marketing representative for Safeco Insurance.
Tim holds a J.D. from Western State University College of Law and a B.A. in Economics from the University of California at Irvine. He is a Certified Consultative Sales Person (CSP) trainer for Wilson Learning, a board member of the market research firm Adept Consumer Testing, and a member of Direct Marketing Association's Ethics Operating Committee.
